Regulation of self-renewal of stem cells;
Genetics and epigenic of induced pluripotency;
Biology of somatic stem cells such as: epithelial (e.g. epidermis, ocular surface, intestine), mesenchymal, neural, muscular;
Regenerative and translational medicine concepts;
Clinical applications of somatic stem cells. Potential clinical applications of pluripotent stem cells.
2. Regulation of advanced therapies
Introduction to Regenerative Medicine in the European context;
European pharmaceutical rules applied to advanced therapy products;
GMP bases or Good Manufacturing Standards and quality system logics;
Examples of Cell Therapy, Tissue Engineering and Gene Therapy;
Elements of nanotechnology in biology;
Notes on pharmaceutical trials with Advanced Therapies.
3. Hematopoietic stem cells and molecular medicine
Biology of Hematopoietic stem cells;
Transcriptional regulation of hematopoietic differentiation;
Clinical applications of Hematopoietic stem cells;
Hematopoietic stem cells in leukemia and myeloproliferative diseases;
Molecular and functional characterization of Hematopoietic stem cells;
Transcriptome analysis in bulk and at single cell level;
Target therapy on leukemic stem cells.
