Mass spectrometry: general principles and applications in the biomedical field
1 CFU
Schedule: First year
Programme
1) General principles of mass spectrometry; the basics of mass spectrometry and instrumentation: ionization techniques, high resolution analyzers and description of the latest instruments available for analyzes in the biomedical field.
2) Quantitative analyses; sample extraction and purification, instrumental analysis using different approaches: spectral counting, label free quantitation and isotopic markings.
3) Notes on bioinformatics applied to the analysis of large scale datasets.
4) Applications of mass spectrometry to the study of biomolecules (proteomics and metabolomics)
